Bakary Sanyang is new GRA boss

According to reliable sources, Mr Bakary Sanyang has been appointed as the new Commissioner General of the Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA), effective Wednesday 9th March 2011.

Sanyang, who was until his appointment, the Commissioner for Domestic Taxes, was acting Commissioner General of the GRA since the demise of former Commissioner General, the late Kaba Tambang, in December 2010.

Mr Malamin Sanyang, Commissioner of Technical Services has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Customs.

He replaces Mr Ansumana Trawally, who has been redeployed.

Mrs Musu Corr-Jarju, Deputy Commissioner Large Taxes Unit (LTU), has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Domestic Taxes, replacing Mr Bakary Sanyang.

In another development, two senior officials of GRA, Mr Edrissa Touray and Mr Lamin Manneh, both senior collectors, have been reinstated.
