The money was part of an advanced payment of BAC’s counterpart contribution to Gamworks for the implementation of identified projects by the council.
The presentation, held at the council’s office, was witnessed by the Regional Governor Aminata Safai Hydara and the Minister of Lands and Regional Administration, Aki Bayo.
The cheque was presented to Gamworks through its Director General Ebrima Cham by the Minister of Lands and Regional Administration on behalf of the BAC.
According to BAC’s CEO Jallow, the presentation of the cheque was the council’s continued efforts at actualizing the Community-based Infrastructure and Livelihood Improvement Project, to which certain projects were submitted by the BAC.
He said the BAC thought it prudent and wise to look at those projects, which are new projects under the rural infrastructural development project.
This new project, he said, is facilitated by “the Government of The Gambia under the able leadership of President Yahya Jammeh” for the council to be able to continue to be part of the country’s infrastructural development drive.
