Assault case proceeds

The Special Criminal Court in Banjul recently heard a case of assault involving one Modou Bah.

Alhagie Jarju, a police officer attached to Ngayen Sanjall Police Station, told the court that on 21 June 2011, while he was posted at Ngayen Sanjall Police Post, his senior told him there was a complaint of an assault.

The complaint, he said, was that one Ebrima Jallow was being assaulted by one Modou Bah with a stick when he went to the scene with the accused and found the alleged stick and subsequently effected arrest on the accused.

He identified the stick, which was later tendered and marked as exhibit.

According to the particulars of offence, on 21 June 2011, at Sinchu Sanjal Village, North Bank Region, the accused, Modou Bah, allegedly assaulted one Ebrima Bah with a stick and thereby committed an offence.
