The criminal trial of assault causing actual bodily harm involving one Muhammed Jawo, recently continued at the Brikama Magistrates' Court, with the testimony of the third prosecution witness, one Omar Sally.

Testifying before Magistrate Effirm, Omar Sally, the prosecution's third witness told the court that he knows the complainant, Wuyeh Drammeh and also recognised the accused person.

According to him, on 13th January 2010 at around 2pm, while on lunch, they saw some cattle in their garden when the complainant went to chase them out. He said he too followed him.

He adduced that the complainant saw the accused standing and told him to come and take his cattle out of the garden.

He said the accused refused to take his cattle out of the garden only to insult the complainant and later jumped over the fence to the garden and fought the complainant.

Further testifying, the prosecution witness told the court that the matter was reported to the Alkalo, who advised them to report it to the police as the complainant has already sustained an injury.

He said the matter was later reported to the Old Yundum Police Station, and the accused was subsequently arrested.

Hearing continues.
