Police public relations officer ASP David Kujabi, who spoke to journalists yesterday, revealed that the arrest was in connection with the 2008-2015 fisheries auditors’ report, for which they were being questioned after observation of the report.
Nine officials including the acting-director general, the permanent secretary, the former director general and the former permanent secretary of fisheries are among those arrested, confirmed ASP Kujabi.
Asked whether there are any charges preferred against them, PRO Kujabi said the matter was still under investigation, and that he could not comment on something he was not sure of.
“Let’s wait for the outcome of the investigation, because as at now I cannot say anything, since the investigation is in progress,” he told journalists.
