Armed Forces win May Day Volleyball final

The Gambia Armed Forces volleyball team defeated Gamtel/Gamcel volleyball team by three sets to one to win   Monday’s May Day volleyball gala, played at the Manneh Sillah Memorial Basketball Court in Banjul.

Gambia Armed Forces won the first set by 25 points whilst Gamtel/Gamcel volleyball team managed to score 20 points.

In the second set Gambia Armed Forces volleyball team again defeated Gamtel/Gamcel volleyball team by 25 points to 18 points.

Gamtel/Gamcel volleyball team woke up from their slumber to beat Gambia Armed Forces volleyball team on the third set by 25 points to 19.

The last set was a tough battle contested by both teams but Gambia Armed Forces volleyball team managed to edge pass Gamtel/Gamcel volleyball team by 25 points to 22.

Earlier, Gambia Armed Forces volleyball team first defeated the Police Force volleyball team in the semi-finals by two sets to progress to the final to face automatic qualifiers Gamtel/Gamcel volleyball team.

The Gambia Armed Forces during the first set of the semi-final beat Police Force volleyball team by 25-16 and during the second set, they again won by 25 points to 20.
