Armed Forces on Sunday extend their lead in the 2008-09 GFA division league following their narrow 1-0 victory over telecommunications boys, Gamtel FC in week sixteen at the Brikama Mini Stadium.
Both sides put respectable performance in the first 45 minutes of the match but they failed to score each other and the first half ended 0-0.
As play resumed in the second half, the Khaki Boys who are chasing for a league title this season were like wounded lions, and mounted pressure on their opponent's defence and they broke the deadlock through striker Alhagie Bambo Fofana in the 74 minutes of the game from a brilliant close shot.
The telecommunications boys made a terrific came back and have created dead clear chances but they are unable to break Armed Forces defence line and the game ended 1-0 in favour.
Armed Forces have 31 points from fifteen games and have a game in hand and Gamtel are fifth in the table with 21 points from sixteen games.
In other week sixteen fixtures Brikama United drew 1-1 with struggling Tallinding United at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium, Bakau giant Steve Biko drew 0-0 with Real de Banjul at the Independence Stadium in Bakau while Hawks.
