Armed Forces beat Serrekunda United in GFA 1st Division League

Armed Forces on Saturday defeated newly promoted side Serrekunda United 2-0 in the Week 13 fixtures of the ongoing Gambia Football Association (GFA) division one league played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

The victory has moved 2008-2009 league champions Armed Forces away from the relegation zone while Serrekunda United are still struggling at the relegation zone.

Hawks were held to a goalless draw by Young Africans in the all-Banjul derby game played at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium on the same day.

Elsewhere, Bakau giants Steve Biko thrashed Wallidan 2-0 in the other Week 13 fixtures played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on Sunday.

Steve Biko have therefore collected 18 points in thirteen games, while Armed Forces, Hawks and  Young Africans have all collected 16 points in thirteen games.

Wallidan are still struggling from bottom with 14 points in thirteen games, while Serrekunda United are rooted at the bottom of the table with 13 points in thirteen games.
