The assistant coach of the Gambia Armed Forces Football Club, Adama Jatta, has said his team will go all out to clinch the Gambia Football Association (GFA) league title this season.

Coach Jatta made this optimistic statement after their 2-1 victory over the Gambia national U-20 team in Wednesday’s friendly game at the Brikama Box Bar mini-Stadium.

According to Jatta, his boys are well prepared and determined for the league title following a disappointing campaign last season.

“We are really confident to win the upcoming GFA league title this season,” he said.

“There is a spirit within the team and I was impressed with the performance of the team against the Gambia U-20 team, as they came from a goal down to beat the Darling Scorpions 2-1 in a friendly game,” said Jatta to this reporter in an interview.

He added that his boys were not settled in the first half of the match but in the second half they were able to overcome the U-20 and scored two “great” goals to snatch a victory.

“The Gambia national U-20 team were spectacular in the first period and they created numerous goal-scoring chances but could not manage to score as many goals as possible,” he concluded.
