Yet another woman was in the wee hours of Tuesday morning killed in a car accident in Latrikunda Sabiji.
Saffiatou Nyassi, aged 30, from Fajikunda reportedly met her untimely death when she tried to crosswalk the highway, just opposite the Latrikunda Market at about 7.30 am.
The driver is said to be one Abba Bojang of Kotu.
According to an eyewitness account, the accident occurred at a time when one side of the road was closed to allow the presidential convoy to pass through.
According to him, when the woman was about to cross from the opposite end of the market, "the over-speeding car knocked on her, killing her on the spot."
When contacted, Superintendent Sulayman Secka, the Police Public Relations Officer confirmed the veracity of the story.
