The murder case involving two former officers of the National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDEA), Edrissa Jarju and Edrissa Jaiteh, could not proceed at the Special Criminal Court in before Justice Emmanuel Nkea.
When the case was called, the Director of Public Prosecutions, S.H. Barkun, announced his representation for the state, while Lawyer Kebba Sanyang and M. Bugi from the Legal Aid office, announced their representation for the accused persons.
The DPP at that point notified the court that the case had suffered from two adjournments, at the instance of the prosecution, on the grounds that the witness they intended to call would be their last witness who is a medical doctor, but was out of the jurisdiction.
He said the witness was now back, and they called him but said he had an engagement, and asked if they could make it on another date.
DPP then applied for an adjournment, which was granted without any objection from the defence team.
