Alleged vehicle theft case continues

The criminal trial of one Bubacarr Suwarreh, who is alleged of stealing a motor vehicle recently continued at the Bundung Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Lamin George.

Testifying for the prosecution as the second witness,  Bubacarr Ceesay, said he lives in Kotu, and he knows the accused, Bubacarr Suwarreh.

According to him, sometime in 2009, the accused and two British Indians came to the complainant, Sanusi Drammeh, to rent a vehicle from him and they agreed at D10, 000 for a ten-day period.

He adduced that when the accused paid the money Sanuzi gave them the vehicle equipped with a new battery.

He further testified that the accused went with his friend to Senegal with the vehicle, and that the agreed period elapsed without a trace of them.

He said they were later made to understand that the accused and his friend were in Guinea-Bissau, adding that the accused was later arrested

The case was adjourned to 26th July 2010.
