The robbery case involving one Gibby Sey continued recently at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul before Justice Emmanuel Nkea.

It continued with the cross-examination of the fourth prosecution witness (PW4), one Samba Bah, a resident of Sukuta town in the Kombo North District of the West Coast Region.

The witness under cross-examination told the court he recognised the accused person and could recall what happened on the day in question.

I was not physically present when the accused was robbing the complainant, but I went to the scene of the crime, and I found the accused at the scene of the crime together with the people who caught him,” he said.

I cannot say the accused was not beaten but I did not beat him, and I did not see anybody assaulting him,” the witness further told the court.

PW4 further told the Special Criminal Court that he was a passerby, and fortunately met the crime, and then intervened to keep the peace, adding that he later gave a statement at the police.

He said if he sees the said statement he would be able to recognise it.

The case continues.
