This followed agreement of both the defence and state counsel to file their briefs within 14 days.
When the case was called, defence counsel Modou Drammeh called his fourth defence witness, Isatou Marong, who is the landlord’s wife, as the defence’s last witness in the case.
Designated as defence fourth witness (DW4), Isatou Marong said she knew the accused, as he was living with her since he was a boy until he got married.
She said the accused is under her care and their bedrooms are close to each other.
Under cross-examination, Isatou Marong said the accused had been a good man and she did not want anything bad to happen to him.
She would do everything so that nothing could happen to him, which was why she was in court to testify.
At that juncture, the defence counsel announced the closure of their case.
Both the prosecution and the defence agreed to file briefs of their arguments within 14 days, which was granted.
The case was adjourned till 12 January 2014, for judgement.
