The rape case involving one Lamin Sanyang continued recently at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul with the testimony of the prosecution witness.
Sanna Ceesay, a witness, told the court he knew the accused person when they were living together in Tanji, stating that on 7 February 2012, he saw people gathering at the house in which the accused lived.
He said that when he went there to find out what was happening, he was told the accused had raped a minor, but he did not see the victim, as the victim had been whisked to the police station.
He added that he later saw some men in uniform who came to arrest the accused and took him to the police station, adding that he did not know what later happened.
The case continues.
