The alleged ram thief, Sheikh Omar Sowe of Kunkujang recently appeared at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before Principal Magistrate Mahoney, for allegedly stealing a ram.
According to the charge sheet, on 25th June 2009, at Mariama Kundung, the accused Sheikh Omar Sowe is alleged to have stolen a ram valued at D2000, being the property of one Njaga Mbaye.
He accused person denied the charge.
Testifying before the court, Njaga Mbaye told the court that on the day in question he went to see his ram at where it was tied and discovered that it was missing. He said as he went to report the matter to Wellingara Police Station he found the ram tied there.
According to him, he enquired from the police officers as to how the ram got there and was told that it was by the accused.
