Alleged mobile theft case adjourned

The alleged theft case involving one Lamin Njie was recently adjourned at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate P. Sarre.

When the case was called, the prosecutor told the court that it was the accused person who should continue his defence, as he had told the court that he has a witness to call.

At that juncture, the trial magistrate asked the accused about his witness, and the accused replied that his witness was in court in the morning, but left saying that he was going for breakfast and never returned.

The magistrate then told him that the court would give him a last chance to adjourn the case, and if at the next sitting none of his witnesses were in court, the court would know what to do.

The case was then adjourned to 24 March 2015.

The accused, Lamin Njie, was alleged to have on 13 August 2014 at Brikama, entered into the dwelling house of one Isatou Demba and stole therein, one Samsung Galaxy mobile phone valued at D12,000, belonging to the said Isatou Demba.
