Abdoulie Ceesay, charged with obtaining money by false pretence, was recently granted bail of D200, 000 by Magistrate Clement Nkumbe Ngube of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.
He was to provide two Gambian sureties within the Greater Banjul Area who must deposit their biometric ID cards.
According to the charge sheet, the accused, Abdoulie Ceesay, between 2008 and 2011, at Latrikunda German and diverse places, with intent to defraud, obtained D161, 550 from one Mamkumba Sarr with the pretext that if she failed to pay, the devils would kill her, knowing or having the reason to believe that such presentation was false.
He pleaded not guilty of the charge and was subsequently granted bail with the above conditions.
Hearing continues, as First Class 2118 Gomez, stood in for the IGP.
