The alleged fraud case involving one Godwin Chukwuka, on Monday 29 October 2012 failed to proceed at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, before Magistrate Dawda Jallow.

The accused, Godwin Chukwuka, was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, alongside one Leonard Onyeka Nwosu, who was said to be at large.

It would be recalled that on the last adjournment date, the court gave an ultimatum to the accused person to find a counsel or else it would proceed with the matter.

However, when the case resumed on Monday, the prosecuting officer reminded the court that the case was for the cross-examination of his witness by the accused person.

He told the court that his witness was supposed to come from Banjul, but was not yet in court.

He then applied for an adjournment and his application was granted.

The case was then adjourned to 15 November 2012.

According to the charge sheet, on 30 June 2012 at Pipeline, Kariaba Avenue and diverse places in The Gambia, they jointly conspired to sell fake drugs for the purpose of gaining money, which they knew or have reason to believe was against the laws of The Gambia.
