In his testimony, officer Gibba said on 30 December 2014 he received information from an informant around Brufut that there was somebody who was selling cannabis, called Bolong Bojang.
He led a team to the said compound where they found a group of boys sitting at the gate of the accused person’s home. They identified themselves and told them they were looking for the accused, Bolong Bojang.
“I was informed that he was in the house and they went inside the house where they found a white empty rice bag containing three bundle of cannabis.”
The accused person was arrested and a search was conducted inside the house and D26,450 was recovered from the cupboard, he said, adding that the accused together with the cannabis and the money were taken to his office.
He said the accused was later cautioned and charged with the offence committed, adding that after a couple of hours, the accused’s wife came, complaining that part of the money recovered belonged to her.
He interviewed the wife on how the money was concealed and she explained that the money was in the black nylon bag which amounted to D14,000 which was their ‘Osusu’ money.
Her statement was recorded and put in the file, he said, adding that the report was made and forwarded to the top with the money.
