Alleged Cattle Rustler Remanded

Magistrate John Njie of the Brikama Magistrates' Court recently remanded in custody one Demba Sanneh for allegedly stealing a female sheep.

According to the particulars of the offence, on 13th August 2008 at Bafuloto, the accused stole one female sheep valued at D2000 the property of one Momodou Saidy. He pleaded not guilty before being remanded in custody until 16th September 2008.

In a related development one Musa Njie was also remanded in custody for allegedly stealing the sum of D20, 000.

The alleged offence revealed that between 2006 and 2008 the accused Musa Njie, being a shop keeper employed by one Mr Alieu Jobe, stole an amount of D20, 000 being the proceeds of sales made from the shop. He denied the charge.

The case was adjourned to 16th August 2008.
