Alleged burglar arraigned

One Bai Modou Camara was recently arraigned before Magistrate Drammeh of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, charged with house breaking and stealing.

The accused, who pleaded not guilty to both counts, was subsequently granted a court bail in the sum of D10, 000, with two Gambian sureties.

According to the charge sheet on count one, on 13th June 2010, at Dippakunda in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Bai Modou Camara broke and entered in the house of one Lamin Susso, with intent to commit felony therein to wit stealing.

Count two stated that, the accused Bai Modou Camara after breaking and entering into the house of the said Lamin Susso stole the following items: one TV marked Sharp, valued at D1, 000, one DVD, valued at D900. 00, mobile phone, valued at D500. 00, and a radio speaker, valued at D200, 00

The case was adjourned to 7th July 2010 for continuation.

In a separate development, one Ebrima Dibba was also recently arraigned before Magistrate Drammeh of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, charged with stealing.

According to the charge sheet, on 19th June 2010, at Bakau in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Ebrima Dibba stole a chicken, valued at D150, 00, being the property of one Alimamy Njie.

The accused, who pleaded not guilty to the charge, was subsequently granted a court bail in the sum of D5000, with one Gambian surety.

The case was adjourned to 8th June 2010 for continuation.
