A man accused of common assault was recently arraigned before Magistrate
Fatou Darboe of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with common assault.
The accused, Muhammed Barry, denied the charge and was granted court bail of D1,500 with a Gambian surety who must deposit an ID card.
The charge sheet read that on 6 October 2014, at Dippa Kunda in the Kanifing Municipality, he assaulted one Micheal Mendy by the collar, tearing his T-shirt, and thereby committed an offence.
The case was adjourned to 21 October 2014, for hearing.
