The annual championship, set to bring together companies and institutions within Gunjur, is expected to attract spectators from Gunjur and its satellite areas for the daylong event.
The championship started in 2013 by Gunjur Athletics Association in collaboration with Gunjur Sports Committee to raise funds for Gunjur zonal team’s participation in the 2013 Super Nawettan Zonal football championship.
Gunjur Radio Jannehkoto FM won the first edition followed by Sandalee Oil and Trading Company Limited, whilst Food Step Ecko Lodge finished third.
Kombo Real Estate won the second edition followed by Food Step Ecko Lodge and Gunjur Project, whilst Gunjur Radio Jannehkoto FC finished fourth.
This year’s championship is named after the late Modou Janneh, who contributed immensely to the formation of the association and the championship.
