Ali Ceesay has said he is not ruling out a return to former club Samger FC in the Gambia Football Federation first division league.
The 23-year-old young brother to Gambian International Momodou ‘Zico’ Ceesay made this remark last Sunday shortly after the final of the Kanifing South Mini Zonal tournament, in an interview with reporters.
Asked if he has any plans of returning to Samger FC, the free agent said: “May be, and never say never.”
Ali, who said he has been in The Gambia for almost a year, also stated that he might go back to Europe.
The defender, whose team (Kanifing South) lost to Pipeline in the final, said he felt great returning to play where it all started (on a sandy playground).
Ali Ceesay started his football career playing for Samger FC before transferring to MŠK Žilina in the spring of 2011, made his debut for Žilina against MFK Košice on 25 May 2011.
Ceesay joined MFK Zemplín Michalovce in July 2011 on a one-year loan from MŠK Žilina and debuted for the club against MFK Tatran Liptovský Mikuláš on 23 August 2011 in the 2011–12 Slovak Cup.
In summer 2012 Ceesay left Žilina yet again to play for ŠTK 1914 Šamorín on a one-year loan.
In March 2014 the Latvian Higher League club Skonto Riga announced the signing of Ali Ceesay for the upcoming season.
He become the first Gambia player to play in the Latvian championship but left the club in mid season, being unable to settle in the first eleven.
