It has been said that what actually matters in life is not how long one lives on earth but what does one live for.
An example of a personality that has led a short life in this world but of a course worthy of admiration and emulation is the late Momodou Max Jallow, who was the executive secretary of the National Sports Council.
Max, as he is commonly called, died at the weekend and left in tears a Gambian nation that is yet to come to terms with the shock of his untimely death.
Ask those who know the late Max Jallow, they would no doubt tell you he was a very hardworking and dedicated servant of the country.
His ambition was to see Gambian sport get to higher heights.
His relationship with the people, including us in the media, was very cordial and examplary. His hard work is what has made the famous Brufut Maraton what it is today.
His love for sport is unquestionable as he worked his entire life in the field of sports development.
The
The country needs the likes of Max since with such people we can attain our set development goals.
We have therefore used this platform to express our condolence to his family, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and through them to the Governoment of The Gambia.
