Accused changes plea

One Muhammed Kujabi, accused of stealing a mobile phone, yesterday changed his plea from not guilty to guilty before the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, presided over by Magistrate Abeke.

When the case was called, the prosecuting officer, Sgt 935 Jammeh, informed the court that the accused person said he had something to tell the court.

The accused, Muhammed Kujabi, then told the court that he had now admitted that he was the very one who took the mobile phone.

The court then recorded plea of guilt.

According to the charge sheet read in court, the accused, Muhammed Kujabi, on 10 April 2013, at Kanifing Estate, in the Kanifing Municipality, stole one mobile phone marked Nokia valued at D1,300, from the house of one Emmanuel Sanyang.

The case was then adjourned till 13 May 2013, for facts.
