Marie Jatta, a native of Abuko, recently testified in the trial of one Madikeh BM Faal who was charged with careless driving before the Brikama Magistrates' Court presided over by Magistrate Nkea.
In her testimony before the court, the complainant, Marie Jatta, said it happened on 25 March 2010 when she left Abuko going to Brufut in a taxi.
According to her, while on their way with the taxi, at around Old Yundum, she saw another speeding vehicle coming towards their car swerving left and right.
She said that it was then she told the taxi driver to watch out, and eventually the accused person’s car hit their car. A few minutes later, she saw herself at the health centre, with her body covered in blood.
She said she was later referred to the RVTH, where she was admitted and discharged the following day, while a medical certificate was issued to her.
The medical certificate was admitted and marked as an exhibit.
