ACBF welcome to The Gambia

Mar 23, 2011, 11:23 AM

We are pleased to learn that the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) will today lay the foundation for partnership with the Gambia government to help boost the human resource base of the country.

We are also pleased that The Gambia has now become the 35th African member state of the ACBF.

To us, this has been overdue.

It is, however, never too late, since the country is busy on public sector transformation in building a robust public service.

The coming of ACBF in this way would obviously help the country in meeting some of its training needs.

Capacity building is essential for the growth and development of any nation and, as such, we once more welcome ACBF to The Gambia.

We encourage ACBF to offer more training opportunities for various local institutions, to help improve their out put.

One way to empower non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community based organizations (CBOs) is to build their professional capacities.

The Gambia, like many other developing nations, needs more capacity building for its work force, and the coming of ACBF to complement our efforts is quite significant.

Once more, we are proud of ACBF’s coming, and would be keenly looking forward to its interventions in the country.
