Head
coach of Waa Banjul FC, Abou Njie said the current form of his team is due to
the hard work of players and commitment from the management.
Coach
Abdou Njie was speaking in an interview after his side’s 1-0 defeat over Gamtel
in their week-ten fixtures of the GFF First Division League played at the
Serrekunda East Park on Sunday.
Waa
Banjul captain Mam Adama Secka’s remarkable free kick was all but enough to
help his side maintained their good run of form in the league as they concede
only two goals after ten matches.
Abdou
Njie further said that beating all the big teams in the league so far is
nothing to them, adding that all what they are chasing after is their
objective, which is to maintain their position in the First Division league.
“We
always work so hard, game-by-game, and another thing we always work on balancing.
We always work on scoring and defending so hard which is helping us right now,”
he said.
According
to him, all what he is doing is to help Banjul young players to develop and
sign for professional football, while thanking the fans for their support since
during the second division league.
For
his part, Jim Kebbeh, head coach of Gamtel FC expressed disappointment for
losing against Waa Banjul, noting that though they lost but hailed his player
for fighting so hard to level matters
