Seedy Jammeh a 6-year-old boy residing in Bakau New town, who had a road traffic accident sometime in December 2007, is urgently in need of assistance to undergo for overseas treatment.
According to the medical report issued by the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital and signed by the Chief Medical Director, Seedy Jammeh "was seen at the Emergency Department alongside his mother complaining of pain in the lumbar and spine and in ability to walk."
This has been a major concern for mother Abi Kuyateh and the family, who have since requested financial support in order to send the young boy for an overseas treatment that is not available in the country.
The medical reports further indicated that Seedy had loss of sensation and paralysis of his lower limbs, which was confirmed after the examination. The X-ray, according to the report, also disclosed fracture and dislocation of L3 L4 vertebrae.
Abi Kuyateh, who spoke to this reporter appealed to private individuals, philanthropists, parastatals and the government of The Gambia, in particular, to come to the rescue of her son.
The board concluded in the medical report that this patient would benefit from overseas treatment. The mother, however, stated that nothing has being done since last year May.
