Kandembo Janneh, Demba Janneh, Fafo Janneh, Alagie Janneh, Sulayman Janneh and Kebba Janneh were recently arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged with willful damage to property and criminal trespass.
They denied the charges and were each granted court bail of D10,000 with two Gambian sureties.
The particulars of offence on count one read that the accused persons on 7 January 2012, at Sandali Village, in Kombo South District of the West Coast Region, willfully cut 160 cashew trees (value unknown), being the property of one Sampiere Mendy.
Count two read that on the same date and place, the accused trespassed into the compound of the said Sampiere Mendy with intent to intimidate, insult or annoy him.
