3 Years Jotna takes to street today

Barely a week after the Office of the Inspector General of Police issued a permit to Operation Three Years Jotna, the pressure group that are calling on President Adama Barrow to step down after three years as per the coalition agreement, the movement today is expected to state a protest.

“With this permit, the Jotna Movement is guaranteed a peaceful procession on Monday 16th December, 2019, according to the Office of Government Spokesperson.

According to Ebrima G. Sankareh, the government’s spokesperson, the protesters will begin from Sting Corner in the suburbs of Jeswang and stops some 200 meters before Denton Bridge the main artery into Banjul from the Kombos.

At Denton Bridge, they will deliver a formal protest petition to President Barrow through a representative.

“A response is expected from President Adama Barrow by January 19, 2020, and if he fails, another demonstration will be staged on January 20,” Sheriff Ceesay, a member of 3 Year Jotna said.

The timeline of the procession is from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. when the crowd is scheduled to disperse.
