Lamin Sanneh, Haruna S. Conteh and Jonkunda Ceesay, all staff of the National Council for Civic Education (NCCE) were, on 2nd November 2010, arraigned before Magistrate Lamin George of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court charged with stealing by clerk or servant.
The accused persons, who all pleaded not guilty to the charge, were each granted court bail in the sum of D100,000 with one Gambian surety each.
According to the charge sheet, between 31st December 2008 and 31st December 2009, in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused persons, being employees of the National Council for Civic Education, as Administrative Secretary, Accountant and Private Secretary respectively, jointly stole an amount of D106, 231.69, being the property of the NCCE.
The case was adjourned till 11th November 2010.
