Tragedy struck residence of Bwiam in the West Coast Region on Tuesday when three people drowned in the river, The Point has reliably gathered.
Muhammed Camara, Korka Camara and Assan Jamanka, all of whom hailed from Serrekunda, reportedly drowned while on a visit with their grandfather in Bwiam.
The incident, which has sent shockwaves across the provincial town, happened around 18:00hrs.
It has come less than six weeks after a similar incident claimed the lives of three people in the village of Sanyang in the Kombo South district of the West Coast Region.
Sources further told this paper that the remains of the deceased have since been recovered.
When contacted, the police public relations officer, ASP Yerro Mballow, confirmed the incident.
