As part of her familiarization tour, the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Fatou Mas Jobe-Njie, on Wednesday paid an official visit to The Gambia Hotel School to see the ongoing construction project.
Upon her arrival at the hotel school, the minister and her delegation were received by the management of the school and later taken to various places including the construction area.
Speaking at the welcoming ceremony, the tourism minister thanked the management of the school as well as the general student body for the warm welcome.
Fatou Mas Jobe called on the students to work hard and respect their teachers.
Her ministry is always in the position to develop the tourism industry in this country, she said.
Dilating on the construction project taking place at the hotel school, Hon. Jobe-Njie said the project is about 2 million euros funded by the Spanish government.
“What we have seen from the old to the new is that we are getting very close to achieving our objectives to transform the hotel school qualitatively into a new hospitality institute, which will make immense contribution to our expectations and aspirations to building the capacity of our tourism industry.
