24 Taekwondo competitors examined ahead of Olympic Games qualifiers

24 Taekwondo competitors examined ahead of Olympic Games qualifiers

The Gambia Taekwondo Association recently conducted an examination for 24 Taekwondo demonstrators at the Elite Fitness Centre in Senegambia.

The examination, according to officials of the association, is part of the preparations for this year’s qualifiers of the 2012 London Olympics Games.

Speaking to Pointsport at the occasion, Muhammed Dinho, secretary general of the Gambia Taekwondo Association (GTA), said he was really impressed with the performance of the young talented Taekwondo demonstrators that took part in the examination.

Dinho says that similar examinations will be held in other regions in the country to select a formidable team that will represent the country in the forthcoming 2012 London Olympics Games qualifies later this year.

The association will prepare the team physically, mentally and morally ahead of the qualifiers, he adds.

Dinho also said the GTA would make all efforts to ensure the Gambian competitors qualify for the 2012 London Olympic Games.

He is however optimistic that the association will perform to expectations when the qualifiers takes centre stage later this year.
