The annual Brufut Marathon Run organised by the Brufut Marathon Run Association (BMRA) is billed to take place on Saturday 12th December 2009.
"Like the previous years, the theme of the 15th edition, "Race Against Malaria" is meant to sensitise members of the community as a national affair," says Ba Jabbi, the Chairman of BMRA.
As usual, there will be races for male, female and children categories ranging from 15, 8 and 1kilo meters, respectively.
The 42 kilometers cycling race is also part of The Gambia's most talked-about, consistent and successful race that has now attracted international attention.
"It is worth noting that a series of activities would be organised alongside the main female and male races, all of which are geared towards accumulating funds to provide support to development initiatives at the community level," says Seedy Bojang, the Executive Director of the association.
