Aminata Susso, a 2-year-seven-month-old, is in urgent need of help go for overseas treatment.
According to a medical report from the RVTH, Aminata was delivered by caesarean section due to fatal distress.
The report added that she was admitted in August 2008 at the Paediatric Ward of the RVTH for 14 days and was later discharged on medication.
Speaking to this reporter at The Point offices, Musa Susso, father of the patient, appealed to the general public, the government, philanthropists and individuals to come to the aid of his daughter.
The Medical Board report issued to Aminata by the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH) dated 4 February 2009, stated that the board after receiving the case recommends treatment with neuroprotectors, like somazine, 100mg daily, neurological rehabilitation, central nervous system stimulants, which are not presently available in The Gambia.
The board therefore recommends that Aminata should go for an overseas treatment, to end the severe pain she is experiencing due to the ailment.
