2 arraigned for aiding a prisoner to escape

Saikou Jallow and Kumba Jallow were Wednesday arraigned before Magistrate Jobarteh of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with aiding a prisoner to escape.

The particulars of offence stated that the accused persons, Saikou Jallow and Kumba Jallow in March 2013, at Kololi, in the Kanifing Municipality, harboured and aided one Modou Faal to escape from police custody, by removing a handcuff from his hands.

They denied the charge and were each granted court bail of D20,000 with one Gambian surety who must swear to an affidavit of means.

Hearing was then adjourned till 15 May 2013.
