Youth in Development Orgnaisation (YIDO), organizers of the 1st youth seminar of the Gambia-Taiwan ties,Thursday announced the postponement of the event initially slated for last weekend.

Speaking to this reporter, Sailu Bah, secretary general of YIDO and a member of the organising committee, confirmed the development.

“Due to circumstances beyond our control we decided to shift the seminar from Saturday July 7th to Saturday July 14th. We apologise to all our invited guests for any inconvinence this change might cause them,” he said.

The objective of the conference, he said, is to teach young people about the existing cultural, political and economic ties between The Gambia and Taiwan.

Taiwan is doing a lot for The Gambia and we also continue to stand by them and as such we feel like young people need to know about this special tie,” said Sailu.

He added: “We do hope that the visiting Taiwan Youth Ambassadors will eventually join us on this historic day.”
