After five weeks of play, the battle for the first division league title is getting more intense and has also unfolded a tight and tough competition among teams.
In the current standings of the highly competitive league, Bakau is leading the table with 11 points in five matches followed by second place Sea View at 9.
Samger and Gamtel, are equal on 8 points with the Academy Boys have an edge on goal difference.
Armed Forces, Brikama United, Africell Sait/ Matty and Hawks all mid - table occupants are trailing behind with 7 points. The Khaki Boys have an advantage over the other three on goal difference.
Steve Biko have fallen behind with 5 points followed by Tallinding United and Real with four points each.
Wallidan is so far languishing at the bottom of the table with 3 points.
Week Six which will resume today will feature Africell/ Sait matty against Tallinding United. The match is expected to be a titanic battle as Tallinding are poised to make a comeback while Sait Matty is looking forward to maintain its winning form.
Real FC will take on fellow strugglers and defending champions, Wallidan. The derby game might be another opportunity for Wallidan to register its first win today at the Independence Stadium.
Another interesting game to watch is Brikama United and Hawks in Brikama. Coach Lang Kah Bojang of Western Region side, will be ready to make amends following his side's 3-1 heavy defeat by Bakau in Week Five, while the same goes for the Red Devils after their 1-0 defeat by Sait Matty.
On Thursday, Steve Biko will meet Telecommunication Boys, Gamtel.
Samger and Sea View will also face each other on Thursday in Brikama. This is expected to be a mouthwatering encounter as both sides are close contenders for the top spot, with Sea View leading with a single point.
Leaders Bakau United will battle with the Khaki Boys Armed Forces at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
