As many as 13 suspects were yesterday arraigned at the Banjul Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Lamin George, charged with rogue and vagabond behaviours. All denied the charges.
The accused are: Pap Abdoulie Joof, Morr Faye, Medul Secka, Alasna Sowe, Ngaga Lowe, Adama Nyany, Pap Secka, all Senegalese, Malick Jobe, Mustapha Darboe, Alhagie Badjie, Abou Jeng, all of them Gambians, while Muhammed Keita and Ebrima Barry are Guineans.
According to the particulars of offence, "Pap Abdoulie Joof and his co-accused persons on or about the 7th July 2009 between the hours of 00.15 to 01.00 am, at Half Die Street in Banjul were found wandering at such a time under such circumstances that led to the conclusion that they were there for illegal and disorderly purpose".
Meanwhile, the accused persons were granted court bail in the sum of D2, 000 each, with one Gambian surety who must deposit his or her national ID card to the court.
The case was adjourned to 25 July 2009.
