Eleven-month-old Fatima Marong, born in Mandorry of Central Badibu, is in urgent need of support to undergo an overseas treatment.
A medical report issued by the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital dated 1 March 2011 states that Fatima Marong has had a CT Scan of the brain, but is still battling with Cerebral sulci, sylvian fissures, widening subarachnoid space, while mild compensatory dilatation of lateral vertricles is noted.
The CT Scan of the brain also shows that the child has brain atrophy, which can only be treated overseas.
Speaking to this reporter recently, an uncle to the child, Mustapha Marong, appeals to the government, the private sector, NGOs, philanthropists and individuals to come to the aid of the child so that she can go for overseas treatment.
Meanwhile, anyone willing to help the child can call the following numbers: 9937206, 3650157 or 9951474.
