DO NOT BE WISE IN YOUR OWN EYES.

Apr 8, 2026, 12:48 PM

Wisdom is not intelligence, though they are siblings. You can be intelligent but not wise. Intelligence is the product of study whereas wisdom is acquired in the domain of experience. Sometimes, it is packaged as a gift. King Solomon in Proverbs advises us to get wisdom. "Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding." (Prov. 4:7)

"Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for she(wisdom) is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold." (Prov. 3:13-14)

Jesus, the Bible tells us "grew and became strong; He was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon Him." (Lk. 2:40)

Who then is wise? "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock." (Matt. 7:24) (Read vv. 25-27).

That Rock is Jesus, our Lord!
