A WAY INTO GOD'S HEART

"Forgive us our sins ..." (Luke 11:4)
When we closely examine the life of King David, we wonder how God could refer to him as "a man after God's own heart." (1 Samuel 13:14) He killed, he committed adultery, he lied, and did such outrageous things that should have disqualified him.

King David was smart enough to go down on his knees with a contrite heart and ask for pardon each time he offended God.
"Against thee, thee only have I sinned and done this evil in your sight." (Psalm 51:4)
"Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me." (v9-12)
Who would not have had mercy on someone who voluntarily pleaded guilty?
The Scriptures were written for our learning.
Daily, let us like King David get on our knees and ask for mercy.
