Jizzle’s Scorpions Vol. 2 bags 1M views on Spotify

Talented Gambian recording artiste, Jizzle, registers another individual achievement as his extended play ‘Scorpion Volume 2’ got over a million streams on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming service.

The achievement came on the verge The Gambia Under-20 Scorpions' historic performance in Egypt, where they thrashed their opponents to make it to the AFCON U-20 final in Eqypt.

The Gambia eventually lost to Senegal after they were defeated two goals to nil but bags a ticket for the first time as one of Africa's representatives to the 2023 U-20 World Cup in Tunisia, which shall kick off on May 20.

The Scorpions Volume 2 EP is the young artiste’s third after ‘The Next Big Thing’ in 2018 and ‘Scorpion Volume 1’ in 2020. His debut album was released in 2019.

Spotify is widely considered to be the largest music streaming service in the world, ahead of competitors such as Apple Music and Amazon Music.

“Thanks to all my supporters, my little Gambia,” Jizzle reacted to this major breakthrough in his career. At the time, the number of streams stood at one million, nine thousand and six hundred and sixty-eight (1,009,668).

Fellow artiste Sana Singhateh, alias ST and sometimes referred to as Brikama Boyo, also congratulate the young artiste on social media.

The piece contains six tracts, five of which he futures some of other top artistes and continental giants, such as Ghana’s Stonebwoy, Nigeria’s Mr Eazy and Senegal’s Viviane Chidid, Aida Samba and Samba Peuzzi.

The six tracts - Abu Dhabi, Broke Again, Bad Energy, Oh Baby, Be My Lover, Falling For You - are produced by Shy Boy from Gambia, WadNow and Gun Silent Beatz from Senegal. The entire project, however, was mixed and mastered by Shyboy & Stylzz Productions.

Jizzle won the best upcoming artiste of the year at the Gambian Entertainment Awards in 2014. He was nominated for best artiste at the continental All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) in 2016.

The Africell brand ambassador, who is inspired by some the world’s biggest names, such as Lil Wayne, Drake, Wizkid and  Davido, was crowned Best Artiste of The Year in 2018 by the celebrated Wah Sa Halat Music Awards.

Jizzle has also announced that he would be releasing an album after the Koriteh.
