Greater Tomorrow were suspended for three years after failing to honour their league matches.
WSRC stated that women in sports are voiceless, adding that WSRA uses its pen to speak for them.
They revealed that women's football continues to grow globally and create opportunities for young girls to build their confidence, discipline and leadership.
"Football team gives girls a strong sense of self-esteem, help them to overcome anxiety and make them feel less self-conscious. Football also empower girls to reach their goal," WSRC stated.
According to WSRC, report claims that certain players and technical staff have failed to comply with club management’s decision to report for training and refused to participate in scheduled GFF official matches, allegedly instigated by head coach and assistant coach.
WSRC pointed out that discipline and order are important in football, adding that the decision to suspend Greater Tomorrow female team for three-year suspension raised serious concerns about fairness.
"Girls faced social and cultural barriers to play football, punish them would end their promising careers.”
”Women's in sports remain limited due to inadequate structural support and long-term suspensions threaten not only individual futures but also the development of women’s football as a whole," WSRC pointed out.
WSRC noted that young players should not bear the full weight of administrative or leadership disputes and therefore called on the GFF and all relevant stakeholders to review this decision with fairness and compassion.
"Accountability is necessary to be mindful of the long-term impact on women’s football in the country," WSRC posited, while urging sporting authorities and stakeholders to intervene constructively to support young women’s careers.
