MOYS petitioned to rename Independence Stadium after Biri Biri

The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) on Monday received a petition to rename the Independence Stadium after Biri Biri.
The project started with the leveling of the football pitch, perimeter fencing and block mauling.
Meanwhile, grassing of the football pitch and construction of the pavilions will come later.
The project is sponsored by world’s football governing body FIFA and coordinated by The Gambia Football Federation (GFF).

Biri’s personality was unique because he cared and loved all people that he encountered. Even though his peers played on him not being educated but what he earned in terms of wealth and popularity I have not seen any Gambian in my opinion got it. Even until his death.
