Women Volleyball players, officials to travel to Dubai for training

The Gambia women volleyball players and officials are set to travel to Dubai for a training programme.

The volleyball players and officials were invited by Dubai Ministry of Sports through Gambia’s sports authorities.

The trip was initiated by Tijan Jaiteh Foundation, an operational arm of former Gambian international who is also the Goodwill Ambassador for Sports.

Tijan JaitehFoundation; an NGO already secured a fruitful partnership with an Italian sports  club called ACS Umbria, who provided a coach to build Gambia’s women volleyball programmes.

Goodwill Ambassador Tijan Jaiteh, thanked both ministries of Sports in The Gambia and Dubai for working together to make the trip possible.

“This is part of our partnership with Italian club ASC- Umbria to develop volleyball in The Gambia especially women’s volleyball,’’ Jaiteh said.

‘‘The idea is to create greater opportunities for training and technical excellence for Gambian games,” he noted.
